Here is a message from team-

Lauren- Miss you! Having the most amazing experience! I met my sponsor today!!

Linda- Hi kids and friends. We are eating pizza for dinner after a fun day of painting a room at the God Cares High school. You would be amazed at all your Mom is doing. I'm having an incredible experience and I'm so glad to be here. The people are very warm and welcoming and so thankful. The team is great and we are having fun and bonding. Love you! Give the grand-kids a big hug from their Mia. And tell them that all the children here love the bracelets they made for them. Big hugs!! xoxoxoxo

Marilyn- Hello to all! We sure are seeing and experiencing many sights, sounds, and smells. Yesterday we spent at the primary school and enjoyed the time with the younger kids. They attach quickly and don't like to let go! Today we were at the high school, sanding and painting primer on a classroom wall; sanding plaster on cement gives a dusty time. It was great to see Esther again, although briefly because the students are taking exams all week. She really is a great girl!! I still haven't made the time adjustment, but it's getting better. Thank you for praying!! I love you and miss you!!!
Yesterday we had the first day at the Primary school. We were overwhelmed by the love and smiles as we were bombarded by tons of little kids. Hadley and Janice spent the day in Kampala meeting with Girl Guides Uganda and went to traditional lunch with Joanita and the women. We got to share the message with the primary students and give them little gifts. Many of us got to meet our sponsor children for the first time and have spent time getting to know them. Today we went back to the high school for our first day or painting. The kids were in exams but they were still very talkative and willing to show us their classrooms as well as study with Lauren and Hadley. It was an exhausting day after all the hard work but we are rewarded with a big meal of pizza.

We have made it safely. The first night was very relaxed as we drove through Kampala traffic from the airport. Sunday we got to go to a special Thanksgiving service to welcome home Pastor Dongo. It was Filled with music and thanksgiving. We then had a traditional Ugandan meal to top off the service. We all piled in the van and drove to the high school. It was such a blessing to catch them on the weekend before exams. All the students were open and talkative. Lots of happy reunions and new introductions. Stu, Don and Lauren all got to meet there sponsor children. It was a great first day.

The team has landed safely in Dubai. After a long flight and meeting unique people and spreading the word, sleeping on the floor, and countless movies we landed and met a trip from California going to Zambia. Don also sat next to a man who is a Pastor in Uganda. God's hand is with us in this trip. We then checked in and went on the night tour and got to see Dubai at night. Lauren, Janice and I are all at the Dubai mall talking about Christianity and the Muslim religion and culture with a man from Kuwait. God is blessing us in many ways.

Only a day out and the team has already gone through various difficulties. Please keep the team in your prayers as we finish up the final needs for the trip and head to Uganda tomorrow. I pray that we go with joyful hearts and open minds to serve these wonderful people and are a light of God as we go. Blessings to the team. Cant wait to be back! Here is a little tidbit of what to expect.
